How To: Recycled Magazine Clutch

I wanted to show everyone how to make this really cool, cute, earth friendly, clutch. The supply list is below. There is not much to get, just some basics from around the house.

1. Old magazines (I used family fun)
2. Scissors
3. Printer Paper
4. Tape

First cut out a page in a magazine. Fold it in half and cut slits almost all the way through. Unfold and try to make as straight and neat as possible. Covering all trace of the fold.
Cut strips off of magazine pages. They can be colorful, plain, thick, or thin. Try to keep them the same length.

Begin weaving them through the slits. Careful not to rip the paper. If you want you can leave the extra at the end, or tape it back onto the other side.

Once you are done weaving you can choose which side you like better. Put a piece of printer paper on the side you don't like (you may have to cut it down), and then fold the extras over onto it. Fold it either way to make an either wide, or tall clutch.
Here is the finished product. This took me about 30 min. to do. You can glue a handle to the inside, or you can embellish with pom-poms, buttons, etc. Have fun! Happy Crafting!
